Anthony Robson Commercials operate a Heavy Goods Vehicle workshop in Doncaster, South Yorkshire with the capabilities of undertaking MOT Preparation & Presentation at vehicle testing facilities. Our technicians are experts in HGV/LGV prep work, carrying out over 300 tests annually. We pride ourselves of achieving a high first time pass rate when fully preparing a vehicle or trailer for its MOT.
Our MOT preparation & Presentation services include:
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme is a voluntary accreditation scheme that promotes best practice for commercial vehicle operations.
FORS Gold is the highest accolade that FORS awards to its members and Anthony Robson Transport are proud to achieve this.
Anthony Robson Transport have been members of the Road Haulage Association (RHA) for many years. The RHA provides dedicated campaigning, advice, information and business services tailored to the transport sector to help guide us and ensure the business is up to date with industry knowledge.
One of the many benefits of being a RHA member is the use of the RHA Conditions of Carriage which Anthony Robson Transport operates under. Other benefits include keeping up to date with changes in the industry with fuel pricing which is a key cost to the business.
At Anthony Robson Transport we deliver training to all of our Lorry Loaders (Hiab) operators to ensure the correct use of their machines on sites. The training they have received is specific to the Lorry Loader Hook (A36A) and is accredited by the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS).
Holding a CSCS card is not a legislative requirement to be able to operate a machine, however most sites find it best practice that operatives carrying out work on their sites carry this entitlement.
All our current operatives have advanced from the initial red card (trained operator) to the CPCS Blue Competent Operator Card.
With our in-house Brake Testing machine at our Doncaster premises we are able to see the performance of vehicles/trailers braking systems. The brake tester is capable of giving us individual axle information, after analysing the data we are able to make adjustments if necessary prior to test presentation.
We strategically place load simulators on the rear axles and aim to apply at least 65% of the design axle weight to each axle. We use similar weights to add weight to the vehicle, to help achieve consistency between tests.
In the case of tractor units only, we are able to offer our own pre-loaded trailer to use for brake testing purposes and MOT presentation.
Our Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) mechanics are on hand to rectify any defects found on pre-MOT Inspection. We carry stock on many items to help speed up this process and have accounts with many suppliers in the area to source parts to get repairs done as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The benefits of choosing a HGV Mechanic to take you vehicle for its MOT Doncaster based, if an inspector thinks minor repairs are needed to your vehicle and they can be done quickly and safely they will be allowed to do so, but only if it does not delay the testing of other vehicles.
